Mr Patton of Warrington has asked for a subscribed copy of his pedigree from Dugdale. 'I have enquired about Madam Prestons funerall and am informed by one that was present at the solemnizing thereof that there was A very solemne funerall & marshalled by Mr Holmes of Chester with 60 penons Carryed in Gentlewomens hands &c, but cannot as yett informe you of the summe hee had for it'.

Postscript: 'The Lady Calveley who is now in London might give you an exact account of it'.

'Sir, yours of the 5th instant I have received'. Asks him to send pedigree of Patten of Warrington 'fairly done in vellom' by the carrier. 'Mr Ashton is now in Towne with you and much at Mr Places shopp in Grays Inne gate as for Mr Holmes of Chester the account that I had of Madam Prestons funerall was from Mr Swan (Chaplain to my Lady Calveley), who was present att the funerall and said it was marshalled by Mr Holmes' - he is now with Lady Calveley in London.
