'Honoured Sir, I have maid bould to trouble you with these lines haveing receaved a summons to appeare before your corte in Lichfield to bring in a coote of Armes and pedigree. Sir, I give none neither can produce any nor have an estate to make me desirous thereof but an ill mischance befell mee yesterday otherwise I had not faild to waite one your Honorable corte'.
