'Sir, I have perused your order and findinge my name annext, I have thought good to acquaint you, that I am not the eldest Brother liveinge of that howse, which I had my pedigree drawne from by an Herold of Arms (viz) Mr Randle Holmes Late of the Citie of Chester deceased' .. gives his arms with a distinction as 3rd brother .. 'If this bee nott satisffaction to you for mee, I will uppon further notice give you the meeting that am your humble servant'.
