Will of Sir Kingsmill Lucy

In the name of God Amen I Sir Kingsmill Lucy of Faccomb in the county of Southampton Baronett doe mke this my last will and testament as followeth. First I doe hereby revoake all former wills att any time heretofore by me made. Item I give and bequeath unto my two daughters Theophila and Mary to each Three Thousand pounds to be paid unto them att their severall ages of sixteene yeares And in case my wife shall now be with child of one or more children I doe give and bequeath unto the said child or children to each Three Thousand pounds to be likewise paid to them at their severall ages of Sixteen yeares. Item I doe give, devise and bequeath unto my Father in Law George lord Berkeley and unto my Cousin Edmond [Edward] Atkins of Lincolnes Inne Esquire and their heires All my mannors messuages lands tenements and heredtaments whatsoever lately purchased by me and lying and bing inthe parishes and hamletts ofNetly Fownd Showland and Hamble in the county of Southampton In Trust for the raising of the aforesaid portions for my severall Children as alsoe for the raising and paying of such other Legacies as are herein given by me given and devised. Item I doe will devise and bequeath unto my aforesaid Two daughters and to such Child or Children as my wife shall now be with Child of to either or all of them one hundred pounds per annum for their present maintenance untill they shall attaine unto their severall ages of sixteene yeares a peice my meaning being That when they come to the aforesaid age They then receive their severall portions before mentioned whole and intore. And in case any of the said children shall dye before their severall ages of sixteene That then the portion of such child or children soe dyeing shal goe remaine and be paid in equall portions to the survivors. Item my will is And I doe order devise and appoint my aforesaid Trustees to raise and pay the aforesaid severall summes to my aforesaid severall children out of the aforesaid messuages mannors and lands And if the aforesaid rents and proffitts will not raise the severall summes aforesaid within the time aforesaid That then my aforesaid Trustees shall sell or otherwise dispose of the aforesaid mannors messuages and lands or soe much or such part thereof as they in their discretion shall think fitt for the raising and paying of the aforesaid severall summes And in cas ethe aforesaid severall mannors messuages and lands shall not be sufficient by their rents or sails or both to raise the aforesaid summes That then I doe give and devise unto my aforesaid Trustees power to raise the same out of any other of my reall or personall estate And if the aforesaid mannors messuages and lands shall amount to more than raise and pay the aforesaid severall summes I doe give and devise the remainder unto my sonne Berkeley Lucy and his heires. I doe order and devise my said Father in Law George lord Berkeley and the aforesaid Edmond Atkins Esquire Trustees to manage and governe All the Estate belonging to my said son Berkeley Lucy after my decease untill he shall attaine unto the age of sixteen yeares And to allow him onely Three hundred pounds per Annum for his maintenance untill he shall attaine unto the said Age. Item I give unto m dearely beloved wife Theophila Lucy All my jewells plate household stuffe and goods whatsoever within doors and without. I doe order devise and appoint that my funerall charges shall be paid by my Executors out of my rents due at Michaelmas next. I doe make and appoint the said Lord George Berkeley and Edward Atkins Esquire executors of this my last will and testament to whom I doe give and devise all the remainder of my personall estate in Trust for my sonne Berkeley Lucy. In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this present 19th of Sept 1678.
